Sidang Editorial WISDOM IN UIM
A popular term used in Malaysia to address a judge in the court is
“Yang Amat Arif lagi Bijaksana” (the most learned and wise). A
person with that stature will remain associated with knowledge and
wisdom as a criteria to discharge his duties effectively. To judge
things without knowledge and wisdom will lead our life to astray.
UIM, as new postgraduate University, foresees the significance of
wisdom’s role in a sophisticated world today. It is baseless to think
that wisdom is as old as Socrates. It is, in fact, an up to the minute
economic indicator.
We often fail in our daily struggle to act with wisdom, but the reward
for acting with wisdom is great. It is the ability to judge correctly and
to follow the best course of action, based on knowledge and
understanding.
