Brief Curriculum Vitae


Datuk Dr. Wan Ahmad Tajuddin bin Wan Abdullah is a Professor at the Department of Physics, Faculty of Science, University of Malaya, as well as Director of the National Centre for Particle Physics (Ncpp), Kluster Penyelidikan Frontier Science, Institute of Research Management and Monitoring, University of Malaya.

He graduated with a Bachelor of Science (Hons) degree from the University of London, United Kingdom. He also obtained a DIC from the Imperial College of Science, Technology and Medicine, University of London and was conferred a PhD from the University of London, United Kingdom.

Prof. Dr. Wan Ahmad Tajuddin is a member of the International Neural Network Society; Fellow of the Institute Fizik Malaysia; and Fellowship of Akademi Sains Malaysia. He was awarded Top Research Scientist Malaysia in 2014 and National Young Scientist Award, Ministry of Science in 1995. Prof. Dr. Wan Ahmad Tajuddin also has an anthology of poetry – Lawatan Lain (Dewan Bahasa dan Pustaka, 1995), 8 Puisi Bebas Ruang dan 8 Sajak Budak Tepi Sungai (Pustaka Dewan Puisi 2006) bersama Leo AWS.

Prior to his present position, he was the Deputy Dean, Faculty of Science, University of Malaya (2009-2010); Acting Dean. Faculty of Computer Science and Information Technology, University of Malaya (2010-2011); and Research Cluster Dean, ICT and Computational Science, Research Cluster (2013).

Prof. Dr. Wan Ahmad Tajuddin’s areas of expertise include Elementary Particle Physics (e+e, electron-proton collisions, hadronization); Neutral Networks, Genetic Algorithms and Fuzzy Logic (Neutral networks, Logic); and Complex Systems (Econophysics, Sosiophysics).

He has published not less than 115 articles, numerous books and other publications.
